Day 2: Saturday 27 April 2019
Today we journey to the delightful town of Temora for a day of fun and excitement. Our first stop is the Temora Rural Museum, a beautifully presented showcase of the changing lifestyles of country Australia. Set in carefully tended grounds, the numerous exhibition buildings house diverse collections ranging from fine china and delicate textiles to extensive displays of stationary engines and tractors, all maintained in working order. As we travel through the town centre of Temora we pass the statue of Paleface Adios, the ‘Temora Tornado’ an Australian harness racing legend who won 104 races. Next, we arrive at the Temora Aviation Museum for an interactive and in-depth experience with some of the Museum’s aircraft during their flying showcase. Witness aerial displays from simple handling to aerobatics or formation flying and see the amazing aircraft up close, chat to the pilots, take photographs and inspect the cockpit and engine. Audio visual presentations both in the cinema and the Display Hangar will enhance the stories of veterans who will be invited to share with their wartime experiences. A packed lunch will be provided for you to enjoy during the day. After an eventful day we return to the motel with time to freshen up before dinner.
Day 3: Sunday 28 April 2019
This morning we visit Wollundry Grove Olives guided tour and tasting. Learn about the history of Wollundry Grove and the production process of producing award winning olive oil and olives. Next, we travel to Junee where we are taken on a guided tour of the famous Licorice & Chocolate Factory. Hear of the buildings history and the establishment of Green Grove Organics and learn about the licorice and chocolate manufacturing process followed by some delicious samples. After lunch we take a guided tour of Monte Cristo Homestead, which claims to be the most haunted house is Australia. Constructed by Christopher William Crawley in 1885, the late-Victorian manor stands proudly on a hill overlooking the town. This afternoon we visit the Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum, home to one of a few working Railway Roundhouses in the Southern Hemisphere before returning to the motel for dinner.
Day 4: Monday 29 April 2019
