Itinerery

Day 1 Saturday 5 September 2020 (Meals: D)

Your tour starts at Sydney Airport where you meet your KTG Tours Hostess who will accompany you on your 9 day adventure. Our flight departs Sydney at 9:35am, arriving in Perth at 12:50pm local time.* On arrival at Perth Airport, we board our awaiting coach and take a scenic drive around Perth before checking in to our hotel where we spend the next 2 nights. Settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner at our hotel.

Day 2 Sunday 6 September 2020 (Meals: B, L, D)

This morning we travel north of Perth for our first stop at the famous Yanchep National Park, home to the Western Grey Kangaroos. Following the raised boardwalk, make sure you look up to spot the Koalas in the trees. We then travel to the lobster fishing town of Cervantes. We stop at the Lobster Shack for an informative talk about the lobster industry, followed by a self-guided tour through the purpose built factory. Enjoy a fish and chip lunch or upgrade to a Lobster Lunch. Then it’s on to the mystical Pinnacles Desert for an easy paced walk through the fascinating landscape where you will be in awe at the sheer size and number of these spires before returning to Perth.

Day 3 Monday 7 September 2020 (Meals: B, L, D)

From Perth we travel south where we pause in Bunbury before stopping to admire the impressive Busselton Jetty. The heritage listed Jetty is over 150 years old and spans over 1.8kms making it the longest wooden-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Continuing on we arrive in the Margaret River Region where we enjoy lunch as well as a visit to The Margaret River Chocolate Company, the Margaret River Dairy and enjoy a tasting at one of Margaret River’s popular wineries. We then check in to Stay Margaret River where we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the motel’s restaurant Willow Grill.

Day 4 Tuesday 8 September 2020 Meals: (B, L, D)

This morning we stop to have a look at Surfers Point at Prevelly, site of the Margaret River Pro. Next, we visit Mammoth Cave, a natural time capsule; having preserved the ancient fossil remains of long-extinct giant animals. We visit Hamelin Bay, a serene open sandy bay, famous for the abundance of stingrays which frequent the bay. Then continue on to admire the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. This historic lighthouse is situated at the tip of a spectacular peninsula, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet at the most south-westerly point of Australia. After lunch we travel to Greater Beedelup National Park to see the beautiful Beedelup Falls before arriving at our lakeside accommodation.

Day 5 Wednesday 9 September 2020 (Meals: B, L, D)

This morning we travel to Walpole where we join the WOW Wilderness Eco-Cruise for an informative 2 1/2 hour cruise on the beautiful and unique waterways of the Walpole and Nornalup Inlets Marine Park to the Nuyts Wilderness, WA’s first Wilderness Zone. This afternoon we explore the world famous Tree Top Walk at the Valley of the Giants. Suspended 40 metres high in the canopy, the Tree Tops Walk meanders through the ancient tingle forest. These giant eucalypts are found nowhere else on Earth, with some standing for more than 400 years. We then continue on to arrive in Albany.

Day 6 Thursday 10 September 2020 (Meals: B, L, D)

Our first stop is Torndirrup Peninsula to see The Gap and Natural Bridge, impressive rock formations which were once connected to Antarctica when Australia was part of the supercontinent Gondwana. Next we explore the National Anzac Centre located within Albany’s heritage listed Princess Royal Fortress. The centre overlooks the actual harbour from which over 41,000 men and women departed Australia for the Great War. Immerse yourself in the Anzac Legend and follow personal stories through state of the art technology, multimedia and historic artefacts. After lunch we leave the coast and travel north to the Western Australian Wheatbelt town of Hyden.

Day 7 Friday 11 September 2020 (Meals: B, L, D)

Today we witness the impressive Wave Rock, a granite cliff 15 metres high and 110 metres long which Geologists believe to be 2,700 million years old! We also see Hippos Yawn another formation that has been naturally sculptured by erosion to look like a huge yawning hippo. After lunch we travel west pausing to see the famous Corrigin Dog Cemetery as well as York, the oldest inland town in Western Australia, renowned for its opulent Victorian and Federation buildings before returning to Perth.

Day 8 Saturday 12 September 2020 (Meals: B, D)

Today you have a FREE DAY in Perth. Your Tour Hostess will have some information on optional activities for today which you can have a look at earlier in the trip. You may like to spend the day shopping, cruise along the Swan River, meet the cute quokkas on Rottnest Island or laze the day away at the hotel – the choice is yours!

Day 9 Sunday 13 September 2020 (Meals: B)

After a leisurely breakfast, we board our coach to be transferred to Perth Airport for our flight arriving back in Sydney at 5:05pm.* Alternatively, you may like to travel from Perth to Sydney on the Indian Pacific for a memorable 3 night train journey (additional cost and subject to availability).
