DISCOVER WORLD HERITAGE LISTED K’GARI FRASER ISLAND

 

Day 1 – Tuesday 22 August 2023

Your tour starts at Sydney Airport – Qantas Domestic Terminal 3 where you meet your KTG Tours Host who will accompany you on your 4 day adventure. Our flight departs Sydney in the morning with a short stopover in Brisbane then onward to Hervey Bay.* On arrival, we board our awaiting coach and transfer to the River Heads Wharf ready for our ferry trip over to K’gari Fraser Island then check in at the Kingfisher Bay Resort. This afternoon, meet your Host at the Sunset Bar for a complementary drink (choose one drink from a selection of beers, wines or soft drink) and get to know your fellow travellers as the sun sets across the Fraser Coast followed by a delicious dinner.

 

Day 2 – Wednesday 23 August 2023

After a tasty buffet breakfast, we board the custom-designed, four-wheel-drive coach for our full day Beauty Spots Tour of K’gari Fraser Island. Remember, it is a sand island, so some sections might get a little bumpy. Sit back and relax in air-conditioned comfort, whilst our experienced tour guide takes us to the most interesting sites the island has to offer. Our guide will enchant us with their knowledge of the natural history, geology and culture of the island. We see incredible sights like Central Station, Wanggoolba Creek, Lake McKenzie, Seventy-Five Mile Beach, the mighty Stonetool Sand Blow, the coloured sands of The Pinnacles and the famous wreck of the cruise ship, Maheno. See the Pile Valley’s stunning Satinay and Brush Box forests and perhaps take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear fresh water at spectacular Eli Creek. A delicious buffet lunch is included during the tour at K’gari Beach Resort. You also have the opportunity to take an optional at own expense scenic flight over the island, with information provided on the day. We return to the resort with time to freshen up before dinner.

 

Day 3 – Thursday 24 August 2023

Enjoy a buffet breakfast this morning before boarding Quick Cat II for a memorable cruise. Witness the awe inspiring Humpback Whales as they take time out in the pristine World Heritage waters off K’gari Fraser Island to socialise, have some fun, learn some essential life skills and nurture their young. Take your wildlife adventure one step further and speak to the crew about upgrading at own expense to a swim with the whale’s experience. We return to the resort for lunch then enjoy some leisure time to explore the resorts facilities. Or you might like to pre-book on two optional at own expense activities. The first is a 1 hour Guided Ranger Walk where you will learn more about the island’s flora and fauna. Then indulge in an interesting and informative Bush Tucker Talk & Taste. Dinner tonight will be at the world-class Seabelle Restaurant known for signature indigenous cuisine with a bush tucker infused menu.

 

Day 4 – Friday 25 August 2023

After another delicious breakfast we farewell K’gari Fraser Island and take the ferry back across the Great Sandy Straight to the mainland with a coach transfer to Hervey Bay Airport. Our flight home via Brisbane arrives back at Sydney Airport at 5:45pm.*
