EXPLORE THE NORTHERN TERRITORY’S TOP END INCLUDING KAKADU NATIONAL PARK, LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK, NITMILUK GORGE & DARWIN CITY ON KTG TOURS 6 DAY TOUR

Day 1 – Sunday 30 June 2024

Your tour starts at Sydney Airport – Qantas Domestic Terminal 3 where you meet your KTG Tours Host who will accompany you on your 6 day adventure. Our flight departs Sydney at 8:15am, flying direct to Darwin.* On arrival at Darwin Airport, we meet our local experienced Driver and board our awaiting coach. We pay a visit to the Museum & Art Gallery of Northern Territory for an insight into the region and a spot of lunch. Then, take a scenic drive around to learn more about this culturally diverse city before checking in to our hotel. Tonight, we venture out for dinner in Darwin where you have the opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers over a tasty meal.

Day 2 – Monday 1 July 2024

Today we explore the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. We depart Darwin and travel along the Arnhem Highway stopping at Humpty Doo to see the Big Boxing Croc. Witness the world class Ubirr Rock Art Site with indigenous paintings up to 20,000 years old. Take an easy walk around the 1km circuit to see the impressive art and climb to the lookout for spectacular views over the wetlands. This afternoon the Indigenous-owned Yellow Water Cruises takes us on a sunset discovery tour through the rich wildlife, dramatic scenery and ever-changing landscape of the world-famous Yellow Water Billabong. Enjoy dinner tonight at our accommodation.

Day 3 – Tuesday 2 July 2024

This morning we depart Kakadu and pause in the old gold mining town of Pine Creek then on to Edith Falls in Nitmiluk National Park where we can take a refreshing dip in the clear water lagoon. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Nitmiluk Visitors Centre followed by an incredible journey through Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) on the NitNit Dreaming Two Gorge cruise. Discover the cultural significance of two gorges to the traditional land owners the Jawoyn people along with spectacular scenery and wildlife.

Day 4 – Wednesday 3 July 2024

Our journey today takes us to Adelaide River where we pause at the War Cemetery for a sobering reminder of the impact World War II had on this part of Australia. We then venture into Litchfield National Park where we witness one of parks most impressive sights and learn about the hundreds of Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds, some up to 100 years old. See Florence Falls as well as the glorious Wangi Falls where we stop for a picnic lunch and a refreshing dip. This afternoon we visit picturesque Berry Springs before arriving back in Darwin where we enjoy dinner at our hotel.

Day 5 – Thursday 4 July 2024

Today enjoy a FREE DAY to explore at your leisure. You may like to book yourself on an optional at own expense activity such as a cruise on Darwin Harbour, take a scenic flight or get up close to a giant Croc at Crocosaurus Cove – if you dare! Alternatively, you could relax at the hotel or visit the museums, shops and art galleries. Lunch and Dinner today will be at own expense. This afternoon you may like to visit the famous Mindal Beach Sunset Markets which is just a short taxi ride from the hotel.

Day 6 – Friday 5 July 2024

After breakfast this morning we farewell our hotel and stop to admire the views from Dudley Point Lookout and explore the fascinating Darwin Military Museum. It’s then time to farewell the Top End as we are transferred to Darwin Airport for our direct flight home, arriving back in Sydney at 5:50pm.*
