Day 1 – Wednesday 4 September 2024

Your tour starts at Sydney Airport where you meet your KTG Tours Host who will accompany you on your 9 day adventure. Our Qantas flight departs Sydney at 10:35am, arriving in Perth at 1:35pm local time.* On arrival, we collect our bags and board our awaiting coach, then take a scenic drive around Perth before checking in to our hotel where we spend the next 2 nights. Settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner at our hotel.

Day 2 – Thursday 5 September 2024

This morning we travel north of Perth for our first stop at the famous Yanchep National Park, home to the Western Grey Kangaroos. Following the raised boardwalk, make sure you look up to spot the Koalas in the trees. We then travel to the lobster fishing town of Cervantes. We stop at the Lobster Shack for an informative talk about the lobster industry, followed by a self-guided tour through the purpose built factory. Enjoy some Fish & Chips or upgrade to a half Lobster Lunch. Then it’s on to the mystical Pinnacles Desert for an easy paced walk through the fascinating landscape where you will be in awe at the sheer size and number of these spires, before returning to Perth.

Day 3 – Friday 6 September 2024

From Perth we travel south along the coast to admire the impressive Busselton Jetty. The heritage listed Jetty is over 150 years old and spans over 1.8kms making it the longest wooden-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Continuing on, we arrive in the Margaret River Region where we enjoy lunch. Visit The Margaret River Chocolate Company as well as one of Margaret River’s popular wineries for a tantalising tasting. Then it’s time to check in to Stay Margaret River where we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the motel’s restaurant Willow Grill.

Day 4 – Saturday 7 September 2024

This morning we stop to have a look at Surfers Point at Prevelly, site of the Margaret River Pro. Next, we visit Mammoth Cave, a natural time capsule; having preserved the ancient fossil remains of long-extinct giant animals. We visit Hamelin Bay, a serene open sandy bay, famous for the abundance of stingrays which frequent the bay. Then continue on to admire the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. This historic lighthouse is situated at the tip of a spectacular peninsula, where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet at the most south-westerly point of Australia. After lunch we travel to Greater Beedelup National Park to see the beautiful Beedelup Falls before arriving at our lakeside accommodation.

Day 5 – Sunday 8 September 2024

This morning we travel to Tingledale where we explore the world famous Tree Top Walk at the Valley of the Giants. Suspended 40 metres high in the canopy, the Tree Tops Walk meanders through the ancient tingle forest. These giant eucalypts are found nowhere else on Earth, with some standing for more than 400 years. Next, we continue on to Albany, where in 1826 Major Edmund Lockyer arrived aboard the Brig Amity to establish the first European settlement in Western Australia. After lunch overlooking the spectacular bay, we take a guided tour of Albany’s Historic Whaling Station. Found on the site of the last whaling company to cease operation in Australia, it is now an interactive museum which tells the story of what was the regions largest industry for 178 years. Finally today we stop to see The Gap, with its see-through platform that juts out 10m from the rockface as well as the sculpted rock formation of Natural Bridge.

Day 6 – Monday 9 September 2024

Our driver will show us around Albany’s historic precinct before visiting the National Anzac Centre located within Albany’s heritage listed Princess Royal Fortress. The centre overlooks the actual harbour from which over 41,000 men and women departed Australia for the Great War. Immerse yourself in the Anzac Legend and follow personal stories through state of the art technology, multimedia and historic artefacts. After lunch we journey north to the Western Australian Wheatbelt town of Hyden.

Day 7 – Tuesday 10 September 2024

Today we witness the impressive Wave Rock, a granite cliff 15 metres high and 110 metres long which Geologists believe to be 2,700 million years old! We also see Hippos Yawn another formation that has been naturally sculptured by erosion to look like a huge yawning hippo. After lunch we travel west, pausing to see the famous Corrigin Dog Cemetery. Then on to York, the oldest inland town in Western Australia renowned for its opulent Victorian and Federation buildings, before returning to Perth.

Day 8 – Wednesday 11 September 2024

Today you have a FREE DAY in Perth. You may like to hit the shops, cruise along the Swan River, meet the cute Quokkas on Rottnest Island or laze the day away at the hotel – the choice is yours! We recommend booking any optional touring well in advance.

Day 9 – Thursday 12 September 2024

After a leisurely breakfast, we board our coach to be transferred to Perth Airport for our flight arriving back in Sydney at 6:30pm.*
